Ruben (born as Livingston Antony Ruben) is an Indian film editor, who works predominantly in the tamil film industry. After graduating with a degree in Visual Communications from Loyola College Chennai, Ruben approached director GautamVasudevMenon to become an assistant, who asked him to approach editor Anthony and joined him as his assistant editor. Ruben subsequently worked on the production of films including KamalHAssan’s VettaiyaduVilayadu (2006) and STR’s VinnaiThaandiVaruvaya (2010) under the guidance of Anthony. Ruben was then given the opportunity to work as an editor when preparing trailers for films and managed to work on projects including Vishal’s Thoranai (2009), Bala sir’s Avan Ivan (2011) and Vishal’s Vedi(2011). He made his full debut as an editor with Kandaen (2011), before going on to win acclaim for his work in Atharvaa’s MuppozhuthumUnKarpanaigal (2012), particularly for his work in the “Oru Murai” song. Ruben made a career breakthrough with his work in RajaRani (2013), which went on to become a commercially successful film and later bagges so many big films in his kitty. His works in Thala AjithKumar’s Vedalam and Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s blockbuster Theri were lauded. Ruben is now one of the most hot and happening editors in tamil film industry.
