Actress Priyanka Chopra shared a quote on the occasion of Women’s Equality Day. She shared, “Well-behaved women seldom make history.”. This quote was given by Laurel Thatcher Ulrich, a Pulitzer Prize-winning American historian who is well-known for her work in early American history and history of women.
Priyanka has always been outspoken on the subjects related to women’s causes. Even on the occasion of Indian Independence , she even talked about the contribution of women in the indian freedom struggle. She also shared a video on India’s 74th Independence day on the women freedom fighters. The voice over of the video said, “Vande Mataram. They were queens. They were warriors. They were revolutionaries. They were messengers, supporters and of course many leaders. India’s freedom struggle gave birth to countless strong and fearless women leaders and each has played a unique part in the struggle.
The video so released had a montage of many great women who took part including Sarojini Naidu, Amrit Kaur, Aruna Asaf Ali, Captain Lakshmi Sahgal, Kamala Kaul, Kanaklata Barua, Kasturba Gandhi, to name a few.
