Nishikant Kamat , director of Ajay devgan starrer Drishyam died at the age of 50. The director was taking the treatment in hyderabad for the cirrhosis of liver and had suffered a relapse. The director Mukesh Chhabra and actor Renuka Shahane.
Renuka wrote, “RIP my friend Nishikant Kamat. I will cherish the wonderful times we shared. What a talented filmmaker you were. I am writing “were” with a very heavy heart. This is no age to pass away.” Actor Zeeshan Quadri wrote, “RIP Nishikant Kamat. You were not just the future of our cinema but a great friend and human being. You’ll be missed.”
Nishikant had made his directorial debut with the marathi film, Dombivali Fast, in 2005. The film turned out to be one of the biggest hits of the year in Marathi cinema and also got a National Film Award the same year for the Best Feature Film.
His 2015 film , Drishyam brought a national spotlight on his work, starring Ajay Devgan and Tabu. He is also credited with directing Force, Rocky Handsome and Madaari. He also appeared in films Rocky Handsome , Julie 2, Bhabesh Joshi and Saatchya Aat Gharat(Marathi)
