Sanjay Leela Bhansali was questioned by the Mumbai Police on Monday in connection with the suicide of the Sushant Singh Rajput. Sanjay revealed that he has not spoken to Sushant since 2016 and aas he was not close to the later actor. He said that he was not even aware of his depression.
Sanjay was questioned about Sushant’s involvement with two of Bhansali’s films Ramleela and Bajirao Mastani, he said that Sushant was involved with Yash Raj Film Paani, directed by Shekhar Kapoor at that point of time.Sushant refused to work on the two big-budget films and Sanjay also insisted that he never ’dropped’ Sushant out of his films.
The filmmaker was questioned by the authorities for three hours at Bandra Police Station and later for one hour by Zone 9 DCP Abhishek Trimuke agt Santacruz Police Station in Mumbai.
The Mumbai Police has recorded the statements of 29 people who were associated with the late actor including his close friends Rhea Chakroborty, Mahesh Shetty, and Producer Sandip Singh. His family members , domestic helpers and director Muskesh Chhabra , his co-actor from the film Dil bechara, and his manager were all questioned.
The Home Minister Anil Deshmukh has urged for an investigation into SUshant’s demise and said that the ‘Professional Rivalry’ angle will be probed by the police. Now, director Shekhar Kapoor will be further told to give his statement.
The late actor Sushant Singh Rajput committed suicide in his home in Mumbai on 14th June 2020.
